Immediately after the power is turned on, the VD-8000HDS turns on and cycles through the recording of files depending on the situation. Permanent videos for 5 minutes. When the shock sensor is triggered, the recording stops and the “event video” recording starts. The video recording saves 10 seconds "before" and 35 seconds "after" the sensor is triggered. Such a file, as when pressing the emergency recording button, is stored in a separate folder and can only be overwritten with the same file, i.e. when the shock sensor is triggered or the record button is pressed.
The presence of two cameras and a wide viewing angle of each allows you to record video almost around the entire car. The secondary camera has IR illumination for recording in low light.
The parking mode is activated automatically and allows you to leave the recorder in the car to record situations while you are away. It is important that the device is constantly supplied with power. In the parking mode, the recorder turns off all the indicator lights and the screen, the recording is made at 5fps in VGA resolution without sound, and when the vehicle is impacted, the shock sensor is triggered or the motion sensor registers movement in the camera's field of view, in this case the recorder will start recording in the previously set quality with sound. This allows you to rationally use the space on the memory card and record only the really important moments so that they are not overwritten by your arrival.
For the parking mode, a battery discharge control function is provided, i.e. If there is a significant voltage drop, the DVR will automatically turn off.
In the settings, you can set the maximum speed, above which the car recorder will start beeping until normal speed is established.
The VisionDrive VD-8000HDS is attached to the windshield with double-sided tape, but it is also possible to mount it on a bracket with a suction cup, which can be purchased separately. If you do not want to leave the recorder in the car, you can easily remove it from both brackets.
The GPS module, together with the VD_Traker program, allows you to record the route, speed and duration of your movement / parking route throughout the entire route and the speed on a certain section of the path. The VD_Traker program can be downloaded on our website, the program does not come as standard, to record data, you need to copy the contents of the archive to a memory card.
3G acceleration sensor automatically record the most important data in the hotel folder, to protect against overwriting while parking. This allows you to save a really important video in an archive that is overwritten only with the same files, i.e. in a collision or sudden acceleration. The sensitivity of the sensor can be adjusted in the settings program, depending on the type of vehicle, road quality and driving style. When a 3G sensor is triggered, the program automatically cuts out a part of the video 10 seconds "before" and 35 seconds "after" the sensor is triggered, thus one file is enough to compile a complete picture of the incident.
The data is securely protected by a password that can be changed in the settings program. In order to view the video on another device, it is possible to convert video files to AVI format.
The new software automatically turns off the screen 3 minutes after turning it on. Digital zoom allows you to focus and zoom in on important video details when viewing on a device monitor.

This is inconvenient, but normal for a two-channel recorder, where 2 video streams, data from a G-sensor and a GPS receiver must be placed on one picture at once. On a positive note, the Visiondrive player is stable and performs well. With it, you can convert video from .vd to .avi, but it's very long! The software on the memory card is inconvenient because the recorder will not be able to work without it. The recorder will not work with another memory card until you download this software and install it on the card.
