LG G3: Tips and Tricks. Problems with LG G3? Try our solutions lg g3 service menu description

  • 11.05.2021

A laconic interface, an application for monitoring health, a convenient keyboard, a branded notification panel, as well as a powerful speaker and a unique case with a round window - all this is LG G3.

Updated interface as an example of a practical approach

The updated interface in LG is the development of all the ideas incorporated and implemented in the company's previous smartphones. But if earlier we saw interesting ideas and convenient solutions, along with sometimes confusing or just a little chaotic design, then in the LG G3 everything is different. The company has done a great job of bringing the graphical component of the interface to mind, in other words, it has collected all the elements and made them a single whole.

The main idea of the new LG UI, in addition to being convenient, simple and understandable, is graphic conciseness. It is expressed in the competent selection of icons, color schemes, fonts and many other details. In the LG G3, flat icons drawn from scratch inside the company look great - they have the right shape and a calm color palette, which was chosen specifically so that different interface elements (icons, menus, window decorations, etc.) are combined with each other. friend. An important point is that the color scheme used in the LG G3 blends very well with the basic design of Android 4.4 and Android L, so when installing new programs and working with them on the LG G3, you will not notice any dissonance between the standard software and the newly installed one.

And now let's talk about some important features of LG UI. First, it is the size of the grid for the location of the icons on the screen. The LG G3 can fit up to 25 icons on the screen, and that's not counting the panel in the bottom area, where 7 more icons fit. There is only one shortcut in this panel - calling the menu with programs, but even it can be moved inside the panel to any position, that is, it is not necessary to leave it in the center. Secondly, in LG UI, you can change the appearance of program icons, not only standard ones, but also new ones that you installed yourself. For any icon, you can choose a new one from the basic set or set a picture, as well as a size, it can be an icon of a standard size 1x1, larger than -3x3, for example, or even 5x5, that is, it occupies the entire screen. This feature will allow even the most finicky smartphone users to make the desktop as beautiful and correct as they need. Again, this may sound a little too colorful, but think for yourself, when you buy a smartphone for a year, two, or even for a longer period, you will probably want to customize its desktops the way you like. And the ability to change program icons will help a lot in this.

The last item that I want to talk about as part of a brief description of LG UI is the lock screen. As before, in the LG G3, here you can change the set of shortcuts for launching programs (up to five), display the weather with or without full-screen animation, and customize unlock graphic effects. But the main feature is the new KnockCode unlock mode. The idea is simple - there is a square with four fields, touching which in a certain order, you set your personal code. In order to unlock the smartphone, you need to touch twice in the same order (that is, make eight touches) the conditional square on the smartphone screen. This method has two advantages over the usual digital unlock code for many. Firstly, to unlock your smartphone using KnockCode, you don't need to see the screen, you can tap it with your finger even while the device is in your pocket or bag, because touches can be made in absolutely any area of the display, and not just in the center or in a special marked field, as in the case of a numeric code. That is, the chance that someone will notice your password while being next to you is minimal. Secondly, the KnockCode touch order entered several times is remembered at the level of reflexes, and then to unlock the smartphone you touch the screen without even thinking about which order of clicks you need to follow, unlike a digital code, which there is a risk of forgetting or confusing with another, a PIN code for a bank card, for example.

Little things, or "Apps for every day"

The LG G3 has a number of small "goodies" that are barely noticeable at first glance, let's call it that. The first is Smart Notice. It's a notification bar placed under the weather and time widget on the home screen to keep you on top of some important things. So, for example, Smart Notice, or, in other words, "Smart Tips", give a short weather forecast and, when necessary, advice that you should take an umbrella or dress warmly. At first, this function seems like a fun and a little naive pampering, but think for yourself, how often do you, looking at the degrees in the weather widget or the rain icon, immediately remember that it’s better to take an umbrella or dress warmly before going out? I think not always. Smart Notice also reminds you of missed calls and pending events and, when necessary, offers to carry out a brief maintenance of the smartphone - delete temporary files, clean the system.

The next important detail, which we often pay so little attention to in a smartphone, despite its importance, is the keyboard. At first glance, the LG G3 has an ordinary keyboard, but it is not. Although all the signs of just a high-quality keyboard are here - the ability to turn on the vibration of the keys on pressing and the sound of touches, the ability to change the theme from light to dark and vice versa, and even an additional number row for quickly entering numbers. And in the English layout there are additional characters on the keys, they are entered by holding the button for a second. All these features are already familiar to many, but the LG G3 keyboard surprises with two "chips". Firstly, in the keyboard, you can change the set of keys on the bottom line, add buttons to enter additional characters there, and remove the button with the settings call if you no longer need it. Or leave at the bottom the buttons for entering a comma and a period or buttons for exclamation and question marks, that is, exactly those that you will use most often.

Secondly, in LG G3 you can change the height of the keyboard. Thus, the keyboard takes up from a quarter of the screen to a half, and even a little more. Accordingly, the size of the buttons changes, and with it the convenience of working with the keyboard as a whole. Thanks to the ability to adjust the height, you can adjust the dimensions of the keyboard to your requirements. Thirdly, the keyboard in the LG G3 can be shifted to the left or right, while reducing its working area, but making it more convenient for typing with one hand. Also, the keyboard can be “split” in half in horizontal mode to make two-handed typing more convenient and not reach for the letters in the center of the screen. All these settings make the keyboard in LG G3 very comfortable and flexible. Even if you don't like big screen smartphones, thanks to things like the shifting of the keyboard and the ability to resize it, the LG G3 might be the way to go.

preinstalled applications. "Gentleman's Set"

Today, any smartphone is a constructor to which you can add almost everything that you lack. But, you see, it is much more pleasant to have all the necessary applications in the new device at once, and not to look for them. Naturally, we are not talking about such programs as a music player, calculator or browser, they are present in any smartphone today. The LG G3 has a handy QuickMemo+ app for taking notes. Notes can be entered either using the on-screen keyboard or by hand using handwriting. An image, video or audio fragment recorded here is added to any note. And most importantly, to the newly created note, you can immediately add information about the current weather and location, as well as a reminder of its operation at a specified time. Inside the application, notes can be collected in one window and you can simply use keywords to search, or you can divide them into categories, creating new ones and adding a separate icon to each. This way of storing notes will surely seem convenient to some.

Another cool program is LG Health. It works in conjunction with this particular smartphone, not only because it is the flagship of the company, but also because the application requires a pedometer in the device for the full operation. When you first launch LG Health, you enter data about yourself - weight, height, age, gender, then the application helps you monitor your health, in short. LG Health shows your daily steps, distance covered and calorie consumption. In addition, LG Health "knows how" to record tracks and overlay them on the map, so that when using this program while traveling, you will never get lost somewhere in the forest. In extreme cases, it will be possible to exit along the same route that you got there.

Sound, Battery and Accessories, or "Technical Details"

One of the technical features of the LG G3 is sound. The power of the sound speaker in the smartphone is 1 watt, and the power of the built-in amplifier for it is 1.5 watts. In practice, these values allow you to get high-quality, and most importantly, loud sounding ringtones, notifications, and especially music, if you decide to play it through the LG G3 speaker.

The battery capacity of the smartphone is 3000 mAh, together with the overall optimization of power consumption, this gives the device a whole day of operation in active mode - with calls, chatting on the Internet, listening to music and shooting with the built-in camera.

By the beginning of LG G3 sales, the company has prepared a branded QuickCircle case with a round window on the front side. The cover fits over the back of the smartphone and completely hides it, so if you buy a G3 in one color, you can always change it with QuickCircle. The accessory also has a built-in module for wireless charging of the device via the Qi interface. But the highlight of the accessory, of course, is its round window.

The window displays a clock in a variety of variations, a menu of messages, calls, a program menu and a music player, a camera viewfinder and an LG Health application. This is not to say that QuickCircle allows you to use your smartphone without opening the case, but you can really do all the most important things with the help of a round window - take a call, read a message, manage MP3, check the time, access LG Health.

By the way, in the first article we talked about what the camera in the LG G3 is capable of, now you can see how popular blogger Sergey Dolya shoots with this camera. It would seem that this is just a camera in a smartphone, but take a look at what it is capable of in the hands of an experienced photographer.

The previous flagship, the LG G2, became a very successful model for the company and increased the brand's perception in the eyes of many users. Needless to say, I myself began to have a different attitude towards devices under the LG brand precisely after I used the LG G2 for several months. However, the new G3, judging by the latest data, will become even more popular. In the first 25 days since the launch of LG G3 sales in South Korea, the company has already broken an internal record - 250,000 smartphones were sold, which is twice as many as LG G2 sold in the same period. In addition, the new smartphone has already received recognition from the world's media and industry experts, for example, the British newspaper The Independent last week called the LG G3 the best Android smartphone. And this is just the beginning.

1. Take advantage of the Knock features
The flagship smartphone LG G3 includes some features designed to set it apart from the competition. You can double-tap the screen to turn the display on and off (although the latter only works when you tap on an empty space on the home screen).

You can use Knock to lock and unlock your device instead of a traditional PIN, or you can wake up your smartphone with a single tap.

In order to try out this feature, go to the "General" tab in the "Settings" menu, then follow "Security" - "Lock screen" - "Select screen lock". Select Knock Code and you will be prompted to create and validate your own Knock template. You will also be prompted to create a backup key in case you forget the code.

2. Use a smart screen
LG takes Samsung's focus on this feature: when you turn on the Smart Screen option, the display backlight will stay on as long as you look at your device. This is a handy feature if you're reading or spending a lot of time looking at a single page.
In order to use this feature, go to Settings - Display and look for Smart Screen.

3. Take screenshots and annotate them in QuickMemo+
You can take screenshots on just about every Android device, but QuickMemo+ is a feature exclusive to LG (or QMemo+) that lets you add handwritten notes to screenshots. There are two ways to get started with QuickMemo+: you can access it from the icon in the quick settings bar, or by adding QuickMemo+ to your home screen.

4. Change the system font
Whether you're looking to spice up your home screen or want to see more playful fonts in your apps, LG comes to the rescue by offering custom text styles to suit your tastes.

To get started, just go to Settings - Display - Font Type. All you have to do is select the desired font type.

5. Ability to work with one hand
The LG G3 is a powerful smartphone with some important features, but let's face it, getting to them isn't always easy. Luckily, the LG G3 offers a one-handed feature designed specifically to alleviate your problem.

By enabling one-handed operation, you can align the dialer, keypad, and lock screen to make it easier to use your smartphone with one hand.

To enable this feature, just go to Settings - General - One-handed operation. When you get to the desired section, simply check the boxes for the features you would like to enable.

6. Customize Navigation Buttons
You can move the G3's navigation buttons as you see fit. Do you want the home button to be on the left? What about the back button on the right?

No problem, you can change the location of these capacitive buttons or even hide them when not in use. Go to Settings - Display - Main touch buttons - Button combinations. From here, you can drag and drop buttons as you see fit.

7. Quick access to camera and notes apps
You can use the volume buttons to launch two apps directly from standby by long pressing them. Holding down the volume button will launch the camera app, and long pressing the volume up button will launch the Notes app.

These assignments cannot be changed, which is a disappointment, and functions are also limited when the G3 is secured with a Knock, PIN, or pattern; in such a case, you will need to unlock your device before the app will run.

8. Adjust the keyboard size
If the keyboard takes up too much space, or you need it to be a little bigger, you can resize the keyboard while holding your LG G3 in portrait mode.

Go to Settings - Language & Input - LG Keyboard. From this section you will be able to make the necessary changes to the height and position of the keyboard. You can also split the keyboard into halves when holding your smartphone in landscape mode or go into one-handed mode.

9. Use two apps at the same time
A long press of the back button activates the dual window feature and allows you to run different system apps on the same screen at the same time. These applications include: browser, maps, news, and email.

Simply drag and drop the two apps you would like to use to the top and bottom of your smartphone. The aspect ratio between the two displayed applications can also be adjusted by dragging the divider bar.

10. Intelligent cleaning function
Smart Cleanup is one of LG's most distinctive features, as it reminds you to delete apps you don't use and other data to free up space on your smartphone. It also recommends that you delete the application cache, temporary files, and other application data that is not used for a long time. Notification intervals and downtime periods are set to 1 month by default, although they can be shortened or extended as you like.

You can find the smart cleanup feature by going to Settings - General - Smart Clean and then just select the category you want to deal with - Temporary Files, Downloaded Folders, or Applications.

11. Adjust contrast and appearance with color adjustment
Under Settings - General - Accessibility, you can find the color adjustment option. In doing so, you can change the look and contrast of the entire interface, including app icons.

Once the feature is activated, you can simply swipe the screen and the entire interface will change to reflect the color you choose.

12. Greater accessibility with touch assistant
Basic functions such as volume control, power on/off, home screen, settings and more can be achieved with an additional button that can be placed anywhere on the screen and access any section of the phone.

To activate these features, go to Settings - General - Accessibility - Touch assistant. The button will appear on the screen, and by clicking on it you will see a menu in which a bunch of basic functions will open.

13. Change the Theme of the Messaging App
If you're not a big fan of the look and feel of the messaging app, you can change it. Head to the Settings section of the messaging app and select Change Theme to change the background and appearance of your messages. You can even use a photo as a background if you like.

14. Change app icons
If you don't like the app icon, long press it and then release it and a small brush will appear in the top right corner. If you click on it, it will open an overview of the different icons you can choose to replace.

We've gone through some of the possible settings available on the LG G3. And while not every feature remains exclusive to this smartphone, there are still tons of tips and tricks that make the G3 unique.

Articles and Lifehacks

The purchase of a mobile device by an experienced user is always associated with the fact that he wants to access those functions that are not available to him in normal mode. As a result, he is often interested in How to get to the service menu on LG G2. What is such a menu, and why is it needed? And can they use it? We will try to provide answers to these questions, as well as talk about other features of the device.

What is the service menu on the LG G2, and how to get into it?

To begin with, it is recommended to use the engineering or service menu only if you have sufficient knowledge and skills, since any changes made may affect the operation of the mobile device. Using this menu, you can not only find out the information you are interested in about the G2, but also change those settings that are usually not available. Sometimes the codes for calling the menu from the same manufacturers are the same, but in most cases unique combinations are provided.

So, without the need to use the service menu is strongly discouraged. If the buyer understands it, he can test the smartphone with it before buying. For example, it will check the display for dead pixels, test the operation of radio modules, touch-screen responsiveness, etc.

So, how to get into the service menu on LG G2? To do this, enter the combination 3845#*802#, then select the HW device test option. We entered the engineering menu.

What else you need to know about the LG G2, besides the service menu code: an overview of other characteristics

At the end of November, LG announced that this device is also available for sale in Russia. This unusual device was released after the flagship Optimus G, and it embodies the most interesting mobile solutions of its developers. The G2 has an excellent display resolution, a powerful processor, numerous communication options, optical image stabilization (built into the camera), and a decent amount of memory.

There are several modifications of this device, between which there are significant differences. For example, they have different LTE bands, different capacities, etc.

Such a model as D802 is officially imported into the territory of the Russian Federation. It runs on Android 4.2.2, is equipped with a 4-core processor with a frequency of 2.26 GHz, 2 gigabytes of RAM and 32 gigabytes of internal memory (without support for micro-SD cards), Adreno 303 graphics subsystem, FM- tuner, support for GPS and GLONASS, and a 3000 mAh battery. The smartphone has a main camera of 13 megapixels (with optical stabilization, auto focus, flash), a front camera of 2.1 megapixels, a True HD-IPS display with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels and a diagonal of 5.2 inches. Micro-SIM supported. Device dimensions: 138.5 x 70.9 x 9.1 millimeters, weight - 143 grams.

The device has a quite ordinary, but stylish design. We note the "native" IPS-screen from LG Display, as well as the protective glass Gorilla Glass 2. The aforementioned 13-megapixel main camera can be considered the real pride of this smartphone. As for the display, it is also quite good.

So, the main advantages of the device include its camera, studio-quality sound support (when listening to music on headphones), a high degree of performance and a contrast screen with excellent brightness. Among the shortcomings: the lack of a slot for a memory card and easily soiled case.

LONDON, 27 May 2014“LG Electronics (LG) today unveiled the long-awaited G3 smartphone to the world, building on the success of the popular LG G2. The presentation of the new model took place simultaneously in six cities in different parts of the world - London, New York, San Francisco, Seoul, Singapore and Istanbul. With the G3, LG aims to redefine what a smartphone should be, universally applicable to users anywhere in the world.

LG G3 is designed in the concept of "Perfection of simple solutions". This smartphone has become the pinnacle of LG's philosophy: "Inspired by you", on the basis of which the company's new products are being developed. The LG G3 is equipped with the very best technology has to offer, providing owners with the most ambitious level of user experience of any previous LG product.

“Our most intelligent innovation in the rapidly changing smartphone market creates the perfect harmony between cutting-edge technology and ease of use,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications. The LG G3 is the result of our efforts to translate this idea into a real product. And we are incredibly proud of the result.”

Key features of the new G3

- A 5.5-inch Quad HD screen with a pixel density of 538 ppi, with a resolution four times higher than HD and almost twice higher than Full HD;

- 13MP camera with OIS+ and revolutionary laser autofocus capable of capturing stunningly clear images in less time than conventional phone cameras typically require;

Exquisite metallic texture back cover coating, featuring light weight, anti-fingerprint and attractive appearance;

The filigree arched design, which makes it very comfortable to hold the phone in one hand, also includes the innovative heritage of the Rear Key;

Reimagined G3 graphical user interface, in line with the concept of "Perfection of simple solutions."

Realistic multimedia viewing experience

LG has an unrivaled reputation in the display industry, and the development of the G3's stunning Quad HD screen is the result of years of technological innovation. With its 538 ppi pixel density Quad HD screen, LG is setting new standards by delivering higher levels of contrast and image fidelity than conventional smartphones. Display LG G3 with a diagonal of 5.5 inches occupies 76.4% of the front surface of the smartphone. Thin screen bezels allow the smartphone to be as comfortable and compact in the hand as smartphones with a much smaller screen size.

The high resolution of the G3 screen required the company's engineers to develop an equally innovative battery. The LG G3 is equipped with a 3,000 mAh replaceable battery and advanced optimization technologies to further enhance its performance. By replacing the metal in the cathode with graphite, LG engineers were able to extend the life of the new battery for the G3. The result is a battery that delivers high performance for a Quad HD display without running out of juice in the middle of the day.

Simply mesmerizing The G3's cutting-edge 13MP OIS+ camera is designed to quickly and easily capture life's special moments as you go, not when you create them for shooting. This is made possible by the innovative laser autofocus, a first for the smartphone market. This technology allows the G3 to capture the best moments even in low light by measuring the distance between the subject and the camera with a special laser beam. No more blurry photos when your son scores his first soccer goal, or missed shots because your camera can't decide which toddler to focus on on the playground. Paired with the popular and proven OIS+ technology pioneered by the G Pro 2, it's sure to impress even the pickiest of paparazzi.

LG has also simplified the process of taking photos directly. Instead of having to focus in playback mode and then press a button to shoot, the G3 user only needs to touch the image of the focus object on the smartphone screen. What's more, the G3's 2.1MP front camera includes several new enhancements, including larger pixels for image capture and a larger aperture to increase the amount of light entering the lens, resulting in better selfie photos. A unique gesture control feature has been added to make it easier to take a selfie: when you're ready to take a photo, simply open and close your hand and the G3 will automatically start a three-second countdown and take a photo. It's hard to find a simpler solution.

For video shooting, the G3 offers superb sound quality with microphones that measure the environment to determine the optimal sound level for the clearest possible recording. And with a built-in 1W speaker and audio amplifier, users can enjoy videos and music with richer and clearer sound.

Balanced and simplified design The arched design of the new G3 smartphone, with its ergonomic curve and fine edges, ensures an amazing one-handed comfort. The Rear Key controls once again embody LG's innovative design cues with improved on/off and volume control buttons, as well as better materials and finishes. LG has also improved the design of the buttons on the back of the phone, placing them in a simple and clear layout that embodies the balanced and cohesive design of the G3. Stylish matte finish with a metallic texture effect will make the G3 look clean without any fingerprints. The smartphone will be available in five vibrant colors: Metallic Black, Silky White, Shining Gold, Moonlight Purple and Burgundy Red.

In addition to the new exterior design, LG has adopted a minimalistic design for the user interface with flat graphics. The rounded motif of the graphic icons in the new interface comes from the shape and concept of the LG logo, reflecting its unique style and personality.

Ease of use reflecting simple pleasures In addition to key cutting-edge technologies, LG has taken Inspired by You to the next level with new G3 user features not seen in previous smartphones. Among them are the following: Smart Keyboard: Responsive technology remembers your typing habits for faster typing and fewer errors. The Smart Keyboard reduces errors by 75 percent by analyzing the precision of your fingers on the letters and “knowing” what word you are going to type. The keyboard height can also be adjusted to better suit the human hand and finger placement. Key keys can also be customized for even faster entry of frequently used characters. Smart Notifications: Much like a personal assistant, Smart Notifications makes recommendations based on the user's phone usage style and location, offering "tips" when they're most needed. Smart notifications can remind you of a call you previously rejected and ask if you'd like to call back. If you have a lot of unused files and apps taking up the G3's memory, the app will ask you if you should delete them. But what makes Smart Notifications stand out from other personal assistants is the ability to use live speech. For example, instead of the usual display of the current temperature and weather forecast, they might give advice such as: "You might want to take an umbrella when you go out because it's going to rain in the evening." Smart Security: Understanding the importance of preserving and protecting confidential information when a smartphone is shared, lost or stolen, LG offers a set of enhanced security features for the G3, such as:

Knock Code™ allows you to unlock your device by entering a specific combination of taps on the screen. The combination of security and convenience will allow owners to create their own personal code, which can be entered anywhere on the screen. On the G3, users will be able to use both the KnockON feature to "wake up" the screen to check the time, or access the home screen via the Knock Code™ application.

The Content Lock system keeps personal information secure and hidden from prying eyes when sharing the G3 with friends. When the G3 is connected to a computer, Content Lock prevents the preview of protected files, thus keeping the data safe. Protected files can be stored either in the G3's internal memory or on a microSD card.

The Kill Switch feature allows you to remotely lock your smartphone in case of theft. Kill Switch also allows you to remotely erase personal information contained on the G3 without violating its confidentiality. Kill Switch also includes virus scanning, remote wipe, and blocking other key features.

LG is also offering a range of premium accessories for its new LG G3 smartphone: The QuickCircle™ case provides easy access to frequently used features. For example, the user can make calls, send messages, use the music player and camera through the round QuickCircle window, without having to open the cover of the case. In addition to the QuickCircle™, LG will also offer a line of premium Slim Guard and Slim Hard cases that will not only prevent scratches and minor damage to your G3, but also provide an attractive look. LG Tone Infinim™ (HBS-900): Developed in collaboration with Harman/Kardon, a Bluetooth stereo headset with premium sound quality and stylish design. Tone Infinim is equipped with a wire management system and special buttons for easily finding the right music, as well as the Name Alert ™ function - voice notifications about the author of an incoming call. Wireless Charger: The compact, foldable charger is designed to be easy to carry around. Compatible with Qi wireless charging technology, it allows you to stay connected in the most convenient way possible.

Starting May 28 in South Korea, the LG G3 will be rolled out globally to more than 170 cellular carriers and retailers. Additional information about the release time of the smartphone in each individual country will be announced additionally as the model appears on the local market.

“The LG G3 is the result of our efforts to translate this idea into a real product. And we are incredibly proud of the result.”

Key features of the new G3

  1. A 5.5-inch Quad HD screen with 538 ppi, four times the resolution of HD, almost twice as high as a Full HD display;
  2. 13MP camera with OIS+ and revolutionary laser autofocus capable of capturing stunningly clear images in less time than conventional phone cameras;
  3. Exquisite metallic texture back cover coating, featuring light weight, anti-fingerprint and attractive appearance;
  4. The filigree arched design, which makes it very comfortable to hold the phone in one hand, also includes the innovative heritage of the Rear Key;
  5. Reimagined G3 graphical user interface, in line with the concept of "Perfection of simple solutions."

Realistic multimedia viewing experience

LG has an unrivaled reputation in the display industry, and the G3's stunning Quad HD display is the result of years of technological innovation.

The LG G3 comes with a 3000mAh replaceable battery and advanced optimization technologies to further enhance its performance. By replacing the metal in the cathode with graphite, LG engineers were able to extend the life of the new battery for the G3. The result is a battery that delivers high performance for a Quad HD display without running out of juice in the middle of the day.

Simply charming

The G3's advanced 13MP OIS+ camera is designed to capture life's special moments quickly and easily, as you go, not when you create them for shooting. This was made possible thanks to the innovative laser autofocus, a first in the smartphone market. This technology allows the G3 to capture the best moments even in low light by measuring the distance between the subject and the camera with a special laser beam. No more blurry photos when your son scores his first goal, or missed shots because your camera can't "decide" which kid to focus on on the playground. Paired with the popular and proven OIS+ technology pioneered by the G Pro 2, it's sure to impress even the pickiest of paparazzi.

LG has also simplified the process of taking photos directly. Instead of focusing in playback mode and then pressing a button to shoot, the G3 user only needs to touch the image of the focus object on the smartphone screen.

For video shooting, the G3 offers superb sound quality with microphones that measure the environment to determine the optimum sound level for the clearest possible recording. And with a built-in 1W speaker and audio amplifier, users can enjoy videos and music with richer and clearer sound.

Balanced and simplified design

The arched design of the new G3 smartphone with its ergonomic curve and fine edges guarantees an amazing user experience. The Rear Key controls once again embody LG's innovative design cues, with improved on/off and volume control buttons, as well as better materials and finishes. LG has also improved the design of the buttons on the back of the phone, placing them in a simple and clear layout that embodies the balanced and cohesive design of the G3. Stylish matte finish with a metallic texture effect will keep the G3 always clean, without any fingerprints. The smartphone will be available in five vibrant colors: metallic black, silky white, shining gold, moon purple and burgundy red.

In addition to the new exterior design, LG has adopted a minimalistic design for the user interface with flat graphics. The rounded motif of the graphic icons in the new interface comes from the shape and concept of the LG logo, reflecting its unique style and personality.

Ease of use reflecting simple pleasures

In addition to key cutting-edge technologies, LG has taken Inspired by You to the next level with new G3 user features not found on previous smartphones. Among them it is worth noting the following:

Smart Keyboard: Adaptive technology remembers your typing habits for faster typing and fewer errors. The smart keyboard reduces errors by 75% by analyzing the accuracy of your fingers on the letters and “knowing” what word you are going to type. The keyboard height can also be adjusted to better suit the human hand and finger placement. Key keys can also be customized for even faster entry of frequently used characters.

Smart Notifications: Much like a personal assistant, Smart Notifications makes recommendations based on the user's phone usage style and location, offering hints when they're most needed. Smart notifications can remind you of a call you previously rejected and ask if you'd like to call back. If you have a lot of unused files and apps taking up the G3's memory, the app will ask you if you should delete them. What makes Smart Notifications stand out from other personal assistants is the ability to use live speech. For example, instead of the usual display of the current temperature and weather forecast, they might give advice such as: "You might want to take an umbrella when you go out because it's going to rain in the evening."

Smart Security: Understanding the importance of preserving and protecting confidential information when a smartphone is shared, lost or stolen, LG offers a set of enhanced security features for the G3, such as:

  1. Knock Code™ allows you to unlock the device by entering a specific combination of taps on the screen. The combination of security and convenience will allow owners to create their own personal code, which can be entered anywhere on the screen. On the G3, users will be able to use both the KnockON feature to wake up the screen, for example to check the time, or access the home screen via the Knock Code™ application.
  2. Information blocking system content lock keeps personal data protected and hidden from prying eyes when sharing G3 with friends. When connecting the G3 to a computer, Content Lock prevents viewing of protected files, thus keeping the data safe. Protected files can be stored either in the G3's internal memory or on a microSD card.
  3. Function kill switch allows you to remotely lock your smartphone in case of theft. Kill Switch also allows you to remotely erase personal information contained on the G3 without violating its confidentiality. Kill Switch also includes virus scanning, remote wipe, and blocking other key features.

LG is also offering a range of premium accessories for its new LG G3 smartphone:

QuickCircle™ Case provides easy access to frequently used functions.

LG Tone Infinim™ (HBS-900) — Developed in collaboration with Harman Kardon, a Bluetooth stereo headset with premium sound quality and stylish design. Tone Infinim is equipped with a wire management system and special buttons for easily finding the right music, as well as the Name Alert ™ function - voice notifications about the author of an incoming call.

Wireless charger. The compact, foldable charger is designed to be easy to carry around. Compatible with Qi wireless charging technology, it allows you to stay connected in the most convenient way possible.

Starting May 28, G3 will begin to roll out across the world markets to more than 170 mobile operators and retailers. Additional information about the release time of the smartphone in each country will be announced later, as the model appears on the local market.
