Htc one dual sim new. Review of the HTC One Dual Sim smartphone: not the only one. Main features of HTC One Dual SIM

  • 07.01.2021

The One Dual Sim has 32GB of internal storage (25GB available), but has a microSD card slot that supports up to 64GB. Thus, the total storage capacity can be 96 GB, which is more than enough for any content. Of course, if you want to store a collection of Blu-ray movies on your smartphone, then no memory is enough. Plus, HTC and Dropbox give all smartphone owners free 25GB cloud storage for two years.

Another important difference between HTC One Dual Sim is that the device does not support LTE. For Muscovites and residents of some other regions, this may be critical, but for most Russians so far, the presence of an LTE module in a smartphone does not make any difference. The rest of the communications are in place: all versions of Wi-Fi, including 802.11ac, Bluetooth and HSDPA at speeds up to 21 megabits. By the way, only the first SIM-card supports high-speed Internet, the second is designed exclusively for GSM. Two radio modules allow you to receive calls from two cards at the same time.

The MHL port combines the capabilities of USB and HDMI; with an adapter, you can connect external drives and some accessories to it.

Battery life

The built-in lithium-ion battery is not even visible when the back cover is removed. Its capacity is the same as that of the original HTC One - 2300 mAh. It would seem that two radio modules and a memory card should reduce the battery life. But either the engineers tried and improved the smartphone compared to the flagship, or there is some catch, and the claimed battery life is absolutely identical for the two models.

In practice, the smartphone's performance is quite decent. I involuntarily recall with an unkind word the gluttonous flagship of last year - HTC One X, which could be discharged by lunchtime. HTC One dual sim is no problem, you can get home from work before it runs out. Of course, this is if you use the battery resource wisely: half an hour of calls, viewing mail, reading news, music and some other little things. The main consumer of a smartphone is a screen, so it is not at all that communication plays a decisive role in matters of autonomy.

Interface, software

The smartphone runs Android 4.1.2 with plans to upgrade to version 4.2.2. The proprietary HTC Sense 5 user interface is installed on top. Compared to the previous version on HTC One X and X +, it has become more restrained, neat and rational. Everything is simplified, but it looks very stylish. Screen animations look different at different times of the day.

There are 12 icons on the screen by default in the main menu, but you can configure them to be 20 (4x5), fortunately, the screen is large. Now you can create folders and put icons in them if there are too many of them. You can see the contents of the selected folder in a floating window, a recently popular element that came to Android starting with ICS.

You can call, read or send a message, use the browser and quickly turn on the camera without removing the lock. It is enough to select the desired shortcut on the screen after pressing the power. The keyboard is perhaps the most comfortable of all for Android.

Especially interesting are HTC branded applications preinstalled on the smartphone. HTC Blinkfeed is a kind of collector of all the updates to your social networks and news to which you are subscribed. The application has a pleasant interface: information is displayed in wide horizontal bars that you can click on. At the same time, the service evokes mixed feelings: the sources can only be selected from a ready-made list, and all information is preliminarily passed through HTC's servers. The company explains the limitation by the fact that the selected sources are guaranteed to be displayed correctly. But it's still a shame.

The second app is called HTC Zoe. The above camera filters are part of it. The application captures some periods of time before and after the shot, and if your shot was unsuccessful, you can correct it due to this - for example, remove a passer-by who suddenly entered the frame or correct a crooked smile. In general, the application is interesting and useful, it has original and powerful tools.

Competitors

There is no smartphone completely similar in functionality, size and capabilities on the market yet. So we chose devices that are somewhat similar to the HTC One Dual Sim. Some of them are a little simpler in terms of hardware, but support two SIM-cards, while others are similar in capabilities, but only for one SIM card.

Sony Xperia ZL

In fact, the smartphone is somewhat reminiscent of HTC One Dual Sim: in the company's lineup it seems to be on the sidelines, but very close to the leader. The 5-inch screen with Full HD resolution is made using TFT technology and is inferior to the display of a smartphone from HTC. The quad-core processor is slightly slower due to the lower clock speed.

This is exactly the case HTC has a solution. Today's flagship, HTC One, has been recognized by everyone, if not the best, then one of the best Android smartphones of our time. Unique design, one-piece body, awesome sound and beautiful picture, interesting camera technology and the latest software versions. All this is of a decent size and only pleases users around the world. But he has a two-symbol variation, which in some places bypassed the flagship. And today we will discuss these places. Sit back and meet HTC One Dual Sim.

First impressions

If you have held HTC One at least once before, you will recognize the two-symbol variant by the jumper on the left side instead of the sim-holder. What this thing is, we will discuss later, and this is probably the only thing that will help distinguish these two devices. Otherwise, it's the same HTC One. Visual and tactile sensations have not changed. Unfortunately, there was a slight fear that the device would slip out of the hand, and I would write it off on weight. But this does not mean that the device is heavy, no, just with its solid dimensions in the middle hand it can “sit” not very stable.

As expected, the first turn on goes smoothly. The smartphone periodically prompts the main points of navigation and system control, which will be useful for non-advanced users. The only problem I encountered was the battery draining quickly in the first three days of use. The smartphone got a little warm when it was just lying around and drained the battery. This did not happen all the time, but periodically. After a couple of days of this incomprehensibility, everything returned to normal, there was no more such behavior, and I was able to fully appreciate the device.

Design, buttons, display ...

I will not repeat myself much about the design, I will just remind you of the main points and tell you about the differences between the one-symbol and two-symbol versions of the HTC One. Let's start with the main difference between the case - the back cover. If HTC One is not removable, the dual sim is collapsible - the cover is removed to access the sim cards and memory card. Yes, you read that right, you can insert a memory card into a dvuhsimnik and get +64 GB. But back to the case. The detachable panel didn't make much of an impact on the build. The details fit perfectly, do not create extraneous sounds and do not move. By the way, the battery is not removable and hidden. And I know, many can say that now the case is not monolithic and "all decay", but believe me, this is quite good. In case of damage and abrasion. And in the repair can play a positive moment, because now the disassembly process will be much easier.

The dimensions of the second sim-card did not greatly affect. While the HTC One measures 137.4 x 68.2 x 9.3 and weighs 143 g, the Dual Sim has 137.8 x 69.3 x 10.4, and the weight is 13 g more - 156. Note these changes are difficult, in practice it did not affect the use of the device in any way. Apart from minor changes in size and the removable back cover, there are no changes. Behind - a round camera window, flash, microphone, HTC and BeatsAudio logos. On the sides there are polished bevels on the metal covers, they look very nice. On the left side of the case there is a jumper for opening the back cover, on the right there is a grooved volume rocker. Below is Micro USB and a microphone, and on top is a headset jack and a power button, which is also an infrared port for controlling the TV. The location of the power button, as for me, is inconvenient - you need to reach for it. And this is the only thing that is really bad in the ergonomics of the device.

There are no changes in front either, but we will discuss it anyway. Above the display, on an aluminum panel, there are sensors, a webcam and a long speaker grill. Under the display there is the HTC logo, the Home and Back buttons, they are covered with glass. And under the glass is another aluminum panel with another speaker grill. It turns out that there are two speakers on the face, which bring a completely new experience of using a smartphone as a multimedia and gaming device. They give out a very decent sound. When watching videos, listening to music and playing games, you no longer need to cover the speaker with your palm for better sound, but just play or watch a video - the sound will be at its best.

Now about the display. 4.7 inches Super LCD 3, covered with Gorilla Glass 2. The sensor understands no more than three fingers (and no more is needed). The display resolution is 1920 x 1080, which is 468 ppi in pixel density. The colors are beautiful and the viewing angles are maximized. It is more than pleasant to work with such a display. Browsing, viewing photos and videos, playing games - everything is cool. The size of the display, of course, makes you either grip the smartphone or use it with both hands - I could not fully work with one hand. Although if we are talking about answering a call or reading mail, then you can handle it with one hand. But this is very subjective. Otherwise, the display is excellent, and is by far one of the best displays I've seen.

HTC has a great design. The smartphone looks quite original, although we have to admit that the front is similar to the BlackBerry Z10. The device is not small, and not everyone will be comfortable using it with one hand. The weight of the device is solid, although I would not call it heavy. This device is perfect for everyone. Personally, I really like the aluminum body. Although, I admit, there are some handprints on it. Dropping the smartphone is also not worth it, but the back cover is calmer than the simple HTC One.

Cameras, photos and videos

You can talk about cameras for a long time. But this has already been done for me in the HTC One review. I will share purely my own impressions. Let's start with the frontal one. The camera for video communication received 2.1 megapixels. It is perfectly acceptable for video communication, even in poor lighting conditions. Of course, there will be a lot of noise, but this camera is not for portraits. Although portraits with friends will turn out quite well in lighted rooms.

The main camera is 4 megapixel. If you just look at the numbers, then things are bad, since competitors have, if not 13, then 8. I am silent about the fact that there are 41 megapixels. But these are all numbers. This camera captures more light than conventional cameras, resulting in a brighter shot in low light conditions. The flip side of the coin is weaker detail and overexposed objects in the sun. But overall, the camera is quite decent. She records video in Full HD, with excellent sound quality. The majority of even demanding users will be satisfied with the results of the pictures, and it will disappoint only those who are initially skeptical about “not 8-13 megapixels”.

Hardware, software and battery

This point, in comparison with the simple HTC One, is exactly the same in its two-symbol brother. There is still the same quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 (APQ8064) with a clock speed of 1.7 GHz, two gigabytes of RAM, video Adreno 320, 32 gigabytes of storage + a slot for memory cards (this comes with a capacity of 4 GB). HTC One is shipped to our region without a memory expansion slot, so the presence of one in the Dual Sim model can be considered an advantage. But everything is learned by comparison: in my smartphone 16 GB, in HTC One Dual Sim - 32. I would have had enough with my head, but for some of my colleagues (hello, Sasha!) This might not be enough. But the performance of a smartphone would probably be enough for everyone. Even if the results are not the best, there are a couple of devices that bypassed our hero in some respects, but these are only numbers, in practice the smartphone behaves perfectly even in demanding games. Do not be surprised if the case heats up quite decently during games and demanding tasks. But in less resource-intensive situations, it stays cool.

The smartphone is running Android 4.2.2, no updates have been heard yet. The interface is HTC Sense 5.0, which also hasn't received any changes since the review. So today we will not waste your time on this, but we will immediately move on to autonomy. The battery, oddly enough, did not grow with the addition of one more radio module. This is the same 2300 mAh battery. Fortunately, this alignment did not greatly affect the autonomy. After the first couple of days I had small problems, the situation settled down and the smartphone withstood an active working day. But you shouldn't count on more, unless you will have a very passive weekend (in terms of using a smartphone, of course).

Two sim cards

The only difference between Dual Sim and the usual HTC One in the interface is the second Sim-card. Like many other smartphones with two operators, there is a call with Sim 1 and Sim 2, as well as messages. In the settings there is a "Network Manager", where you can configure the operator for the Internet. In the sound settings, you can set your own call for each operator. And by the way, both Sim cards are active, which will allow you to receive calls from Sim 2, while you are talking to Sim 1. In general, everything, like everywhere else, is simple and intuitive.

Conclusions and personal impressions

During the time I had HTC One Dual Sim, I really fell in love with this device. He has a number of advantages over the usual HTC One, which can later play key roles in the choice. Honestly, in countries where there are no problems with mobile Internet (and if the user rarely leaves this country), there is probably no point in taking the two-digit version. But in our conditions, when our most popular operators and Edge are not everywhere, sometimes you want to have a second SIM card slot with 3G. It is also convenient for those who often travel abroad and like to stay in touch. At the same time, you have not a weak smartphone, but a real flagship!

You can come to terms with the fact that such a smartphone is not easy to put in your hand, and at the same time it will be a little heavy. This is a small minus. And not everyone can pay for this two-symbol flagship. This is HTC One Dual Sim's biggest problem. Now the average cost of such a copy is $ 740, and this is almost a hundred more than the "classic" version. This is truly one of the best Android smartphones on the market. Cool design, great display, decent camera, performance headroom and the coolest sound. He has everything you might need. Yes, good things come at a price. Do you want to drive a luxury car? Pay! Do you want to relax in 7 * hotels? Pay! Do you want to have a flagship with two SIM cards? Pay!

HTC One Dual Sim smartphone - overview

I'll start from afar - with an epic panel. For a long time with smartphones from HTC I had a love-fallout. And even from the time when they sold their smartphones under the name QTEK. My very first smartphone (then they were called communicators to distinguish them from Symbian smartphones) was called T-Mobile MDA-III, aka HTC Blueangel, aka QTEK 9090. Then came Qtek S110, HTC Touch, HTC Touch Diamond (Samsung in that moment I dabbled in a model with a pipis on a string). Then HTC got a wonderful model with a huge screen - HTC Touch HD2, and I immediately switched to it. This phone was spoiled only by the ugly operating system - Windows Mobile.

HTC Touch HD2

And when Windows Mobile finally got me (this happened with the release of Windows Mobile 6.5: then it became clear that nothing would save this operating system), I switched to the iPhone: especially since then the third version of iOS had already been released, where they were already more or less obvious curvatures have been finished. It's just that the iPhone at that time, in my opinion, was the best smartphone option in terms of both hardware and software. Android at that time was still at the stage of the second version, and the second version looked still damp and not very attractive. I continued to follow the smartphones produced by HTC, but they somehow did not please me at all: the first android models were not very successful. And then Samsung came to the fore with its Samsung Galaxy Note, which experts at first considered a funny toy - they say, who would buy such a "shovel" at all - but this model began to sell very successfully, and I became very interested in it: a tiny display of an iPhone. annoyed for a long time.

Samsung Galaxy Note

After Note, I switched to Samsung Galaxy S III, but at the same time I tested HTC One X properly, which I didn’t particularly like. I didn’t like some of the engineering solutions, shell features, and the smartphone lived on battery power somehow very quickly: it was dying young, in short. In the meantime, the Samsung craze ended, I switched to the Sony Xperia Z, which I considered the best smartphone at the time. Only one thing in it did not suit me: support for only one SIM card, because I have two actual phones - Moscow and Spanish. I really wanted to put them in one smartphone. I tried several Chinese two-SIM options, but purely Chinese smartphones are extremely rarely good, and in addition, they almost always support two SIM cards in passive mode (that is, they have only one radio module), and this did not suit me too much. Around the same time that the Samsung Galaxy S 4 and Sony Xperia Z hit the market, HTC unveiled its flagship, the HTC One. It looked very interesting, and I was about to take it to test, but I found out that soon the HTC One Dual Sim model should appear, which interested me very, very much. Therefore, I decided not to contact HTC One, but to wait for the release of HTC One Dual Sim in order to write a review of this particular model and decide whether it will suit me as the main phone for two numbers.

Sony Xperia Z

By the way, at least in Spain this model has not appeared until now, so it had to be bought in Moscow. There were some adventures with the purchase of a smartphone. According to the results of the study of the situation, it turned out that Moscow was flooded with specifically FAKE HTC One Dual Sim, which are stamped in mainland China and which are crooked to the point of disgrace. Moreover, our traders also managed to sell this squalor at a price that was very little different from the price of the original smartphone, so many were pricked up on this and wrote angry posts about what kind of junk HTC is now producing. Personally, the company Video-shoper.ru gave me such a fake: I, of course, returned this smartphone, but I lost a lot of time and money on it.

Counterfeit box

The fact of the appearance of fakes in my letter was also confirmed by HTC. So, if you buy this smartphone in Russia, buy ONLY the Rostest version: this is how it differs and how to check it.

Original box

It is not so easy to distinguish a fake HTC One Dual Sim: it looks almost one-on-one, only the glass there is not Gorilla Glass 2, like the original, but some kind of cheap, so it scratches with terrible force (fake vendors know about this , so it is nice to advise you to stick a protective film on the display). As a result, everything ended well for me: I did not have time to buy a smartphone in the store, because HTC gave it to me after hearing about the situation with a fake, for which they are very grateful. Nevertheless, of course, gifts are gifts, but I will study this model, as usual, honestly and impartially, especially since I had to answer the question whether I can make it my main phone. So HTC One Dual Sim - let's go!

And the differences are not only in the support of two SIM cards. In addition, the Dual Sim supports an SD card (the HTC One doesn't have one: a stupid tradition started with the HTC One X) and the back cover is removable. Also, HTC One has two options for memory size - 32GB and 64GB, plus HTC One supports LTE, but Dual Sim does not. Now about the configuration. Actually, the technical characteristics are more or less traditional for flagships. Unless the camera pleases with megapixels, however, as you know, the number of megapixels is not the issue, so we'll still see how it shoots at all. Equipment Supplied in a nice square box.
Inside - a smartphone, headset, USB cable, network adapter. The HTC One kit also includes a "clip" for removing a SIM card, there is no such "clip", of course.
Appearance and features The smartphone looks, in my opinion, just fine - especially in the white version (there is also a black one). On the front panel there are two aluminum overlays that cover the speakers, camera and light and proximity sensors. Please note that the speakers are located on the front panel, which has a very positive effect on the sound: other flagships have them on the back. The back cover is removable, but this does not spoil the look of the smartphone: the cover is made very, very high quality, like the whole smartphone. The cover is opened using a special lever. At the same time, it leans to the side, and under it there are two slots for SIM cards and a slot for a microSD card.
Despite the fact that there are two radio modules, only SIM 1 supports WCDMA: in SIM 2 - only GSM, so you won't be able to use 3G there. This, in general, is not at all scary, because when using two SIM cards, only one of them is used to access the Internet. And with the second one, if anything, it is quite possible to do without 3G. And the fact that access to the slots for SIM cards and to the memory card is carried out without removing the battery (which is not removable here) means that all this can be changed without turning off the device .Left side - cover opening lever. The upper end is a power key and an output for connecting a headset.
Let me say a few words about the power button. She is ugly. It is located in a very crooked place and is pressed with great difficulty. It was practically leveled with the surface of the end face - it is clear that this is protection against false positives, but there are big problems with false positives like pressing. In Samsung and Sony, the power buttons are located very conveniently - on the right side just above the center. With this arrangement, the button is very convenient to press with your thumb, but HTC has a very special way: they position the button so that you can press it only if you use two hands - take the phone in your right hand and press the button with your left. Madhouse. Right side - volume rocker.
The bottom end is a microUSB port.
Well, now let's compare this device with two other flagships.
In my opinion, Samsung looks the worst: a soap dish and a soap dish. The design of the Sony Xperia Z is noticeably more stylish. However, the HTC One is, of course, the coolest here: the design is excellent, it looks great, but now the second fly in the ointment. What is the bottom center of a good smartphone? That's right, the physical OK button (Samsung), which is best, or the touch-sensitive OK button (Sony), which is also bearable. And what is there on the HTC One? Navel? No, not a navel, but almost guessed right. He has the HTC LOGO there! Which, of course, is not a button. That is, they took the most valuable place at the bottom in the center with their own logo, without thinking how to put it up, like all normal manufacturers. Here is such a show, which leads users to sincere bewilderment (and how mad the cat Bublik was ...). You can, of course, survive this, and they did not tolerate that, but it is very difficult for me to explain some of HTC's engineering solutions. As a result, only two buttons remain on the bottom panel: "Home" (not in the usual place, but on the right) and return. There is no "Menu" button here, it appears in programs as an on-screen button. However, in the settings, you can make it so that the menu will be called up by long pressing "Home". The HTC One X had a similar perversion - a proprietary technique, [obscene word]. Display The display is based on an IPS-matrix called by the developers S-LCD 3. I must say that the display looks just fine. Traditionally excellent viewing angles, very good brightness: in normal mode I set the level to about 60%, well, the image is still quite distinguishable in bright sun. Very good natural colors - no "acidity", which is usually characteristic of Super AMOLED displays. The pixel density is 469 PPI, which is a record figure: for example, the Sony Xperia Z has 443 PPI, the Samsung Galaxy S 4 has 441 PPI The display is covered with Gorilla Glass 2, the upper part is treated with an oleophobic coating, so the screen is not so much smudged by fingers By the way, I really liked how the automatic brightness control works here: it has much less flaws than the Samsung Galaxy S 4, where I just had to turn off the automatic brightness control. Device operation The operating system Android 4.2.2 is installed here with HTC Sense proprietary shell and some proprietary applications from HTC.

Three desktops are installed by default. On the main central one, there is a time and weather widget plus a clever widget with all sorts of news, tips, information from social networks, and so on. It all scrolls down about a dozen screens and looks like the hub system in Windows Phone. HTC seems to be so proud of this development that you cannot remove this desktop. Yes, you can't - that's all, he will exist here forever.

Thank goodness, you can add other desktops - up to five - and make any of them home, so that this desktop can be pushed into, for example, the first one. But in this case, it turns out that only four desktops are available for your applications and widgets, and not five. A strange decision.

However, this is Android, so if it really bothers you, you can just put any other shell. New desktops are configured in the most common way: widgets, applications, shortcuts, and folders can be added there.

Here, for example, is the famous clock widget from HTC.

The bottom, permanent, panel contains four editable icons and a non-editable (it cannot be removed or replaced) icon for calling applications. Here are all the applications installed on the system.

Folders.

Applications can be grouped - for example, all multimedia.

Notification area.

The icon on the right in the notification area brings up a very convenient panel of a wide variety of switches.

Telephone... The phone application here is proprietary, from HTC, so let's figure it out. Instead of making normal bookmarks that fit on one screen, HTC developers have made a scrollable bookmark ribbon, which is noticeably more inconvenient to use than regular bookmarks. Moreover, here offhand you can't immediately understand what kind of bookmarks are here: their names do not fit corny. There are: call log, phone, favorites, contacts and groups.

However, the rest of the work with the phone application is very convenient. Phone menu.

This is the favorite.

Selection of contacts taking into account two SIM cards.

Phone book.

Incoming call.

By the way, if a contact has a small and low-quality picture, then it is displayed over the entire width of the display, but in this way, in my opinion, it is very well thought out.

Calling process: mute the microphone, turn on the speaker, put on hold, call the keyboard, contact, make a new call - join the conversation. By the way, the quality of the phone call is very good: the sound is clear, loud, I did not notice any problems. I, as the subscribers said, can also be heard very well.

The call log is very visual, and it clearly shows which SIM card the call was on.

On an outgoing call, you can choose from which SIM card to make a call. Moreover, each slot can be named whatever is convenient for you. For me, for example, they are called "Spain" and "MTS".

In the contact list, you can search by voice, but recognition does not work very well - for example, an attempt to find "Petya Mokina". SMS The messages are also very decently done. You can immediately see where it came from, plus you can choose a specific SIM card directly when answering. True, this option sometimes leads to incidents when, without looking at which number the SMS came to, I accidentally answered from another number. Here, of course, there is not enough opportunity for some subscribers to ask an answer from one specific SIM card.

Message parameters.

You can set a task to reply to the message later.

It supports: archiving / restoring, blacklisting contacts (very useful) and secret boxes (moving messages to the password area, which is valuable for many users committing crimes against married life, which we personally strongly condemn).

Other apps and services Among the widgets on offer is a great set of useful toggle icons that I use all the time. Yes, there is still a top panel with similar icons, but it's more convenient for me when there is a separate desktop with all these switches.

Google Maps- a pleasure at such a resolution and with such a clear display.

Gallery is its own application, quite advanced. Images can be displayed by albums, events, coordinates, friends (from social networks).

The folder / album is shown as a preview rectangle.

The "Send" icon offers a bunch of all kinds of services, and it also has its own HTC Share service, a cloud-based publishing application.

View in the form of albums.

The image can be uploaded to FB from here.

The audio listening app is very good. Many sorting options.

Playlists, playback from media servers, download of covers from the Web.

A player with all sorts of possibilities.

Player menu.

Well, and a very interesting opportunity is to connect a service that pulls the text of the current song from the Internet and displays the words in the form of karaoke. Just class!

Another option is playback with all sorts of visual special effects.

All sorts of sound enhancement technologies are used here. There is no equalizer as such (in the basic version); instead, it is proposed to enable the Beats Audio option, which automatically sets the necessary parameters. I must say that Beats Audio works really well. And in general, I really liked the smartphone in terms of sound. The sound from the speakers is loud, surprisingly clear, and even some kind of bass has contrived to be present there. When connected with good headphones, the sound is great, at the level of advanced audio players. Surround sound, very decent highs and good bass. I also adjusted the equalizer and special effects on my N7 Player - I was very pleased with the result. The video player from the gallery is convenient and informative: in the pop-up icons it also shows the time, battery percentage and an icon with which you can take a screenshot of the screen. "Matryoshka" plays without problems up to 1080p, but for some reason refused to play WMV. However, instead of it, my favorite MX Player is installed - and it will play anything. The smartphone can handle resolutions up to 720p well with a software decoder, but 1080p is better played with a hardware decoder. However, even with software, it slows down quite a bit. Application "In the car" - a special desktop with large icons of various applications, and the set of icons can be edited.

Time is a very visual app with world clock, alarms, stopwatch and timer. But the bookmarks here are just as inconvenient as in the phone application.

Alarm settings.

Stopwatch.

Timer.

The lock screen is convenient and advanced. Using the lower icons (they are editable), you can get into specific applications. Missed calls and SMS are conveniently displayed on the screen.

Incoming call.

Weather application. Convenient and beautiful, but AccuWeather is somehow not very accurate in predictions.

Settings The settings here, as usual with HTC, are pretty tweaked compared to pure Android. However, there are interesting possibilities here - let's go over the key options.

Mobile network settings for two SIM cards.

Here you can give your own names to the slots.

Setting up devices that support HTC Media Link HD.

Wireless network.

Personalization.

Special features.

Sharing content with different phones.

Screen, buttons and gestures. The "Home" button is configurable quite flexibly. You can select an option that brings up Google Now with a swipe on the button, a list of recently launched applications with a double tap, and a long press for a menu. It's comfortable.

Options for the phone.

Power setting. Power saving seems to work pretty well, but this option turns off Bluetooth and does not turn it on, and I need BT all the time to connect with the Pebble watch, so I don't use it.

Camera The camera here is HTC UltraPixel 4 Mpix with HTC Zoe mode. Why are there so few megapixels when competitors are already rolling out 13 megapixels? HTC reasoned that increasing the megapixel count on small sensors does very little: because less and less light falls on each small pixel. Therefore, they went the other way: they doubled the matrix itself, making a resolution of 4 megapixels. There are not many pixels, they said in HTC, but they are large, which means they get more light: this reduces noise and increases the dynamic range. However, I practically did not notice any such special advantages in this technology, and the quality of the camera is perhaps a little worse than the competition. Not critically worse, but worse. However, judge for yourself: the camera interface.

The icon on the right includes the most interesting HTC Zoe mode. This is when the camera continuously captures what is happening around (keeping only a small last segment of time), and if you take a frame, and you do not like it, then you always have the opportunity to "roll back" forward or backward by selecting the appropriate frame. For example, remove an extra passer-by from the frame, catch a smile, and so on. In general, a very interesting mode, I liked it. A lot of different camera settings.

Well, now let's see how the camera shoots in different situations. The images were not processed in any way, only reduced. All photos are clickable.

Back light.
Backlit HDR - worked well.
Premises, poor lighting.
White balance floated in the room. But this was not often manifested in her.

Street, poor conditions.
The exposure was determined incorrectly - it happens.

Readability test. Out of three frames, one is completely sharp.

Dust.
Also twilight, but in completely different latitudes.
At night. By the way, in the city in the dark, many shots were blurry - the shutter speed was too long.
House, poor lighting.
Contrast lighting.
By the way, she showed the weed well. Many cameras take her to such "acid" ...
A street with deep shadows.
She's in HDR.
Clear sunny day.
Clouds.

It is very cloudy.

Poor lighting conditions.
Garage, poor lighting.
Filming from an airplane.

The street is cloudy.
Villanov in very poor lighting. The street is very cloudy.
Well, the panorama.
The video shoots decently, I shot the child with it many times. Here's a test video. In general, what about the camera? Shoots, in my opinion, bearable. These are the usual problems of a smartphone camera, but for a smartphone reporting, it will do. "Shavelenka" appears quite often (all these smartphones often set too slow shutter speed 1/60), but I'm already used to taking each frame three times - so at least one will be normal. Performance Purely visually, the smartphone works very, very quickly: you can clearly see how powerful its filling is. Quadrant Standard gave it an index of 11 996 (Galaxy S 4 - 12 080).

But Antutu Benchmark gave more than other flagships - 26,137.

Battery life AnTuTu Tester gave the following data on it. 3 hours 23 minutes under full load to 19% discharge is very, very good.

I really could not carry out traditional tests here: the standard Android has the ability to remove the hibernation, there is no such possibility, so I had to test on those programs that themselves prohibit hibernation. Internet + reading... The brightness is set to 65% (the usual level, which I always use), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are on, the page is refreshed in the browser every minute, the reader is also included, in which the book is automatically scrolled (so that the sleep mode does not work). The result is 9 hours! The Galaxy S 4 has a similar result, the Sony Xperia Z has a smaller one. Video... Brightness 60%, airplane mode. A 720p movie with hardware decoding is being chased in a loop. Almost exactly 5 hours is normal. By the way, the fears that two active GSM-modules will consume the battery noticeably more actively were not confirmed. Purely practically, HTC One Dual Sim lives on one charge no less than two other flagships. That is, with an average use of one charge, in general, it is enough for a day, with continuous active use - about 4 hours of work. Observations during operation For a month of active use, I did not notice any glitches. The smartphone is very stable and, in general, pleased. There were some minor problems with the Navigon program, but this only manifested itself when the GPS was turned off. As soon as the GPS was turned on, the program worked perfectly fine. There were no problems in Sygic in both modes. conclusions Despite some comments, I can say that I definitely liked the phone, I didn't even expect it. Even in the single-symbol version, I would prefer it to the Samsung Galaxy S 4. I like the Sony Xperia Z (especially the Z1) better, but it cannot be dual-SIM, and two SIM cards are very relevant to me. So it looks like the HTC One Dual Sim has no alternative as a dual SIM model. Well, given the fact that the smartphone turned out to be more than decent, I see no reason to be sad. I've been using it all the time for a month, I'm going to continue to use it. The price of 30 thousand in Moscow does not seem to be too high. Sony Xperia Z 32 Gb costs 24 thousand, and it has one radio module. Also, the HTC One Dual Sim is a recent launch, so the price will be dropping soon. Well, do not chase the cheap, remember about fakes! Buy only smartphones with a Rostest certificate: at the time when I bought my smartphone, these were only in Euroset and in Svyaznoy. Do not mess with crooks selling fakes - it will quickly come out big sideways. Now let's briefly talk about the pros and cons. Pros:

two full-fledged radio modules; excellent design - the best among all flagships; very good characteristics of iron; excellent display, not too "fading" in the sun; very good sound; normal battery life; quality software.
Minuses:
    inconvenient power button; HTC logo in place of the Home button; awkward tabs in multiple applications;
