  • 06.12.2021

File manager for Android is required to manage files and folders on a mobile device: smartphone or tablet. With the help of the file manager (explorer, file manager), all the necessary actions are performed with files on a device running the Android operating system.

Any file manager for Android should be able to perform all the basic actions: create, copy, delete, rename, move files and folders on the device. Depending on the level of its capabilities, the file manager may have advanced functionality necessary to perform some operations with files: editing system files (for this you need to get Root rights on the device), working with archives, multimedia files (video, audio, photo) , exchange files between a mobile device and a PC via a local network, exchange files via cloud storage, transfer files over the Internet using various network protocols, etc.

The system file manager does not always satisfy users with its capabilities. In this article, we will try to choose the best file manager for Android.

I reviewed file managers for Android in Russian, completely free, or having the basic necessary functionality in the free version, if there is a paid option. Therefore, this article does not include some popular programs: Solid Explorer, Root Explorer, etc.

Let's see which file manager is the best for Android. In fact, choosing the best file manager for Android in Russian is not possible due to the fact that users have different requirements for the program for working with files.

Some users need maximum functionality, while the majority will be satisfied with the most common and demanded functions of the application. Therefore, the choice of each user will correspond to the needs of a particular person.

When choosing a suitable file manager, pay attention to the functionality of the application that you will need when using it, read the reviews, rate the convenience of working with the program according to your impressions. Try several programs in operation, and then make your choice based on your preferences, according to the degree of convenience of using a particular file manager.

How to install a file manager on Android

The file manager is installed on Android like any other application. To search for the application, you need to enter the Google Play store by clicking on the Google Play icon on the smartphone screen, from the search in the browser, or via the direct link: https: //play.google.com/store.

In the search field, enter the expression: "file manager", as a result of the search results, you will be presented with a large number of programs designed to work with file management in the Android operating system.

Now let's move on to an overview of the best free file managers for Android.

The file manager is one of the most important applications in a smartphone. You can use it to view and find downloaded files, manage storage space, move files, and more. Not everyone likes to organize files because it's boring, but everyone needs a file manager. Here are the best file viewing apps and file managers for Android.

Amaze File Manage is relatively new and good enough. It is open source and lightweight interface, especially for those who just need to view files. It has Material Design, SMB file sharing, a built-in application manager, and more. This manager includes the most important functions without being cumbersome. You can download it for free, or if you want to help the developers, use in-app purchases.

Astro is one of the oldest file managers for Android. Throughout its history, it has had ups and downs. However, it has always been a good choice. Of the functions, it is worth noting support for SD cards, support for cloud storage, file compression, application management and support for unpacking archives (ZIP and RAR). You will also get an intuitive and beautiful Material Design interface. The app is completely free and ad-free. The developer has also posted a beta version if you want to try new features before others.

Asus File Manager

It's not every day that you see apps from a smartphone manufacturer on the list of the best. But Asus's file manager is really good. The app has a clean and simple interface with LAN and SMB support, cloud storage support, support for various file types, support for archiving, and more. This is a completely free app with no in-app purchases. The only downside is the lack of root access and a few advertisements.

FX File Explorer is a relatively new file manager. It has all the usual functions. This includes a function for managing media and files, support for multiple windows, network storage like FTP, and even support for encrypted zipped files. There's even a text editor and support for unpopular archives like GZip, Bzip2, and 7zip. It has no ads and does not track your devices. It is a good choice for those looking to ditch ES File Explorer.

MiXplorer Silver - File Manager

MiXplorer Silver is the newest file manager on this list. The list of features is pretty impressive. You get standard features like file browsing, cloud storage support, and HTML browsing. There are some niche features including EPub, MobiPlacket and support for PDF reading as well as file encryption. There are many plugins that increase the functionality, For example, if you need archiving support, you can install the corresponding plugin. The app does not have a free version, so be sure to use the trial period to decide whether you like it or not.

MK Explorer (File Manager)

MK Explorer is another good file manager. It is a simple manager with few functions. It's perfect for you if you're looking for something simple. It has a Material Design interface, basic file management functions (copy, paste, delete, SD card support for Lollipop 5.0+) and root access. There is also support for 20 languages, built-in text editor, gallery and music player. The app hasn't been updated for a long time, so I recommend it only to smartphones with an older version of Android, such as Lollipop or Marshmallow.

Root Explorer has long been popular with root users. It is not the most up-to-date application, but it is updated frequently. These updates include a new interface, new features and stability improvements. With this manager you will have root access to the partition (if your smartphone is rooted), which allows you to do whatever you want. The app has tools like a binary XML viewer, the ability to change the owner and groups of a file, MD5 support, and more.

Solid explorer

Solid Explorer is gaining popularity and it's understandable why. It has a Material Design interface, cloud support, Roo access, FTP, SFTP, WebDav, SMB and CIFS support, archiving and compression support, Chromecast support, and even themes. This is the absolute leader in the number of functions that can only be in a file manager. You can try it for free for two weeks. Then you have to pay 99 rubles. I recommend this manager first of all. I think it is the best for Android.

For the operating system, many applications have been created that allow you to manage files. Which of them are the best - you can find out in this article dedicated to the most interesting and attractive file managers for Android.

Total Commander is one of the oldest and most famous file managers, which first appeared on computers and was later ported to Android. On the latter, the application offers wide functionality: in addition to basic features such as copying, pasting, renaming, there is also work with ZIP and RAR archives, a built-in text editor, file search, an optional FTP client, WebDAV support and even a media player.

The main functionality of ES Explorer:

  • file manager - basic operations and viewing the storage;
  • multimedia player with video and image viewing;
  • cloud storage support;
  • ZIP and RAR archives support;
  • viewing files using Bluetooth;
  • built-in task manager with process management.
Among the interesting additional features, it is worth noting clearing the cache and editing autorun - you can prevent some applications from loading when the device starts. The ES Explorer interface is fully Russified.

File Explorer is a balanced file manager with many features and a nice interface. Recently, the program has implemented support for "material" design with all its beauties and nice animations. Among the most interesting features of File Explorer are:

  • transfer files between devices via Wi-Fi Direct or NFC;
  • the ability to manage the application via the web interface from a computer;
  • convenient home screen with all the necessary files and folders;
  • multi-window mode for convenient file management in multiple folders at the same time.

The main version of Solid Explorer is a paid app, but the first time you download it, the developers give you 14 days of free use. Also, the modern application has a fresh interface.

Root Explorer is a must-have app for those who have it on their device. With this file manager, you can get into the deepest jungle of the Android file system. The functionality of the program is very rich in things that geeks and enthusiasts of the Android operating system may like: support for multiple tabs, executing scripts, remounting partitions, working with access rights, viewing the details of APK installation files and binary XML, creating symbolic links, the ability to open files in different applications , view MD5 and create shortcuts to files on the desktop.

All the main functions inherent in file managers are also present - from working with archives (including creating them) to group renaming or moving files. The Root Explorer app isn't free, but it offers a ton of functionality for its price. However, all this is only for owners of "rooted" devices.

One of the best applications for the defunct Symbian OS has been delighting Android users for a long time. X-plore is a legendary file manager that became very popular in the Symbian era. With the transition to Android, the application lost its charm, but the functionality and main strengths remained. The program still offers a user-friendly interface for managing files and a lot of features, among which it is worth noting:

  • built-in text editor and image viewer;
  • viewing detailed data about files;
  • editing file attributes;
  • multiple choice with group operations on files;
  • work with archives;
  • global file search;
  • support for FTP, WebDAV, SSH;
  • Hex viewer.

Almost all owners of phones on the Android platform are interested in what is the best file manager for Android.

Yes, to date, a lot of them have been invented and all may have different characteristics, but to this day there is no clear answer to the question "Which one is the best?"

Therefore, it would be helpful to know what other users think of this.

This review uses the opinions of people that they expressed on social networks and forums. Materials from different articles were used only to describe a particular manager.

# 1. ES File Explorer

So, the first on our list will be the really most popular file manager today, which is called "ES File Explorer".

This program has gained immense popularity for one simple reason - it is the first file manager of its kind.

Indeed, at first, Android had a standard explorer that could display files and allow you to edit and delete them.

The very fact that ES File Explorer could be seen back on Android 1.6 speaks volumes.

Therefore, it is not surprising that every second person on the forums writes about this manager.

The functionality of ES File Explorer from the very beginning was somewhat wider than that of the standard explorer. Today developers are really trying to lead the market.

To do this, they constantly change the appearance of their conductor and add additional functions to it.

The main features of ES File Explorer are as follows:

  • Free distribution;
  • Supports work with cloud services and archive files;
  • No ads;
  • Convenient interface (in Russian);
  • Convenient file editing.

The fact is that most of these programs exist due to the fact that the user is constantly shown just a huge amount of annoying advertising materials.

And this makes their use very inconvenient. But ES File Explorer doesn't have that. As for editing files, this should be discussed in more detail.

Editing in ES File Explorer

The interface itself looks like the one shown in Figure 1.

As you can see, it is very stylish. From the very beginning, the user will see all their folders in the form of a grid (as shown in Figure 1).

By clicking on the "View" button, you can change the size of these icons.

Interestingly, the larger these icons are, the more information about each file and each folder will be displayed.

A number of actions are available for each file, including deleting, renaming, copying, and more.

As mentioned above, Explorer does a great job with archived files and allows you to either unzip the files you need, or work with them directly in the archive.

In principle, the user will not even notice that he has opened the archive, because it will be displayed like any other regular folder.

ES File Explorer has an automatic grouping feature. So, in the left drop-down menu there are items - "Music", "Video", "Downloads" and more.

Developers pay special attention to additional functions.

Convenient navigation is present.

Users also like how X-plore File Manager displays thumbnails of files - you can almost always understand what kind of file it is and whether it is worth opening it in full screen mode.

X-plore File Manager can also work with applications - delete them. Among the small features should be noted the opening of APK files in the form of the most common ZIP.

On Google Play, X-plore File Manager has an overwhelming majority of positive ratings - an average rating of 4.5.

Interestingly, this file manager has also existed for a very long time. You can often find comments on the Internet that people have been using it since the days of Symbian.

Flaws

Of course, everything has its drawbacks.

This also applies to the X-plore File Manager. For example, you can often come across comments that the manager does not see the memory card, the video player does not work on it, and many other minor points.

In principle, they can be found on ES File Explorer, but this happens there much less often.

It cannot be said that this is some kind of flaw, just the program is very popular and bugs are quite possible somewhere.

All the same, most of the reviews about X-plore File Manager are extremely positive and the two-window mode still attracts a huge number of users to this application.

Visually, you can see that X-plore File Manager has something to praise for, even when working in non-dual-window mode. Each file has its extension, date of creation and size written next to it.

At the top there are icons for actions that can be performed with each specific file.

It is also interesting that there is a progress bar at the bottom that shows how much memory is already full. In general, all this is really convenient for a wide variety of users.

No. 3. Total commander

The good old Total Commander, which we all used at least once on our home computers.

Indeed, many years ago, this file manager attracted all of us by the fact that it allowed us to see all files, even hidden ones, a user-friendly interface and a huge number of various additional functions.

It should be said that the mobile version of Total Commander, like the computer version, is intended not for ordinary users, but for "advanced" ones.

This can be said for the reason that it has just a huge number of small functional icons - each of them is responsible for one or another action.

Some people spend more than one hour just to figure out how Total Commander works and which button is responsible for what.

But among those very "advanced" users, he is really the most popular.

Ordinary users of Total Commander can also be attracted by the lack of advertising materials, the ability to work with archive files, the interface in Russian and the fact that it is simply free.

The interface itself looks pretty solid too. As mentioned above, in addition to the main functions, the mobile Total Commander has a huge number of additional features.

As you can see in Figure 4, at the bottom of the explorer window there are those additional buttons, notorious for Total Commander.

So, there we can see a button for selecting several files, a button for archiving, deleting, saving under a different name, buttons for various sorting options and much more.

At the top are buttons for search and other additional functions.

It is interesting that all those main buttons that we can see in the picture above do not represent all the functions of Total Commander, there are many more of them. All this looks very solid.

Flaws

As for the shortcomings, the main one is the lack of the ability to work with cloud storage.

It is quite possible that soon the developers will solve this problem, because today every fifth user uses "clouds" and because of this Total Commander is losing a rather large audience of customers.

But the main disadvantage of Total Commander is the complexity of this explorer. If you look at it from the other side, then this file manager has a huge number of functions, which makes it simply irreplaceable for many users.

Negative ratings are given only by those who simply do not need this functionality.

In any case, Total Commander accepts all files that can only be downloaded and which imply the presence of video, audio and photographic materials.

Most importantly, all this functionality is free and the program does not imply any advertising.

In fact, Total Commander is one of the most functional applications in principle, not only among file explorers.

Important! Total Commander does not freeze, sees all removable media and does not crash. So if you like the functionality and you are not afraid to deal with all the buttons of Total Commander, feel free to download it and use it for your pleasure!

You can install Total Commander in exactly the same way as any other application.

No. 4. Solid explorer

This is one of the few similar programs that are not distributed free of charge. But its price is purely symbolic - 65 rubles.

In principle, you can pay for all the also wide functionality of Solid Explorer (of course, not as wide as that of Total Commander), which we will talk about later.

Interestingly, the main reason for Solid Explorer's popularity is its attractive interface.

Many people write that with it the phone looks very modern and stylish.

Some Samsung phone owners point out that Solid Explorer is the best for their devices - fits very well.

Although, by and large, this is a completely standard explorer, which has all the standard features of such programs.

As you can see, the interface really looks very impressive. Although there are people who do not see absolutely nothing special in such an appearance.

Still, Solid Explorer is highly customizable.

For example, you can put your own unique theme in which the entire conductor will be decorated.

Among the shortcomings, one should highlight the defective Russian language. Most users from Russia and neighboring countries write that the application does not have a complete translation.

Of course, this negatively affects the popularity of this program.

Some users point out that Rooted Solid Explorer is a very dangerous tool that can cause viruses to enter the device or by accessing personal data.

The fact is that this file manager has, for example, access to calls. This means that the program can independently call someone from your phone.

Many people simply do not understand why the conductor needs such a function at all.

Still, Solid Explorer has much more advantages than disadvantages. His average rating on Google Play is 4.6. In fact, very few programs can boast of such an indicator.

Yes, this manager is not free, but it should definitely be installed by novice users. Compared to Solid Explorer, the famous ES File Explorer looks like a "food processor".

They say so because ES has a lot of additional unnecessary features. In Solid Explorer, everything is just the basics.

Work description

It should be said right away that in Solid Explorer everything is much clearer than in the same Total Commander. Therefore, this file manager is more suitable for ordinary users.

There are, obviously, the majority of them, therefore, such a huge popularity of Solid Explorer looks quite logical. By the way, this manager also has the ability to work with several windows at once.

However, in X-plore File Manager this mode is created a little better.

Additional tools include analysis of memory cards and internal memory. You can analyze an individual folder in the same way.

Additional tools appear when you click on each file / folder.

In general, the process of use is very simple. On the left side of the program window, you can see all available sources from which data is taken.

Here are the usual folders on a memory card or internal memory of the device, as well as cloud storage.

Each of them has a degree of utilization, which is displayed as a percentage. There is a settings button at the top of this section of the program.

The folders themselves in the main window are also displayed along with the creation date and occupied space, like files.

The number of files in a particular folder is also shown. When you open a folder, you can see a thumbnail of each individual file.

No. 5. File Manager by Cheetah Mobile

Interestingly, there is the usual File Manager, which is most often installed on phones by default. Most likely, File Manager will be your first file manager.

But the File Manager from Cheetah Mobile is very different from the standard File Explorer.

And it also differs quite strongly from all the similar programs described above.

At the same time, up to one of the latest updates, the File Manager from Cheetah Mobile was a standard guide, in which a minimum of functions was collected.

Today, this program is a very functional explorer, which is pleasant to install and which is pleasant to use.

The differences lie in appearance. The main screen contains a library of categories, where all files are distributed.

Search for files is available, and this applies both to the shared library and to individual folders.

There is a slide-out panel on the left side, which presents the same file library and the "Shortcuts" section.

This section contains buttons for going to the "home", that is, the initial directory, network checks and more.

It is worth noting that everything here is very conveniently divided into categories. In the library, for example, there is a folder called "New files", where everything that was last in the phone's memory is presented.

There is also a folder "apk files", where the installation files are collected.

There is a section called "Bookmarks". The user can independently enter his favorite folders and files into it.

There are, of course, many additional elements. All of them are placed in a separate section.

Among them is a memory analyzer and checking the so-called junk files, that is, those that are not needed, but only clutter up the memory.

In the above "Shortcuts" section, there is a shortcut named "Network". It allows you to connect cloud storage or other functions related to working on the Internet to the explorer.

Importantly, archived files are supported, that is, those with the .zip and .rar extensions. The settings in this file manager are also very convenient.

In general, everything is created, as they say, for people.

What people say

Interestingly, Cheetah Mobile's File Manager score on Google Play is 4.4, but there are very few negative reviews on the app's page.

Some of them are related to the fact that some updates were released incorrectly or were simply installed somehow incorrectly.

For example, people write that after updating the version of File Manager from Cheetah Mobile, some standard functions, such as copying or moving files, stopped working.

Basically, users write that they really like this application, and they will recommend File Manager from Cheetah Mobile to their friends and acquaintances.

The main benefits of File Manager from Cheetah Mobile, according to users, are as follows:

  • There is the possibility of convenient sorting of files, thanks to which you can organize everything that is in the device's memory, on removable media and on cloud storage;
  • It is possible to see those files that will not be visible in other conductors;
  • Can be connected to a computer without physical cables;
  • Various files can be unpacked and compressed;
  • There are no ads and banners hated by users.

In general, File Manager by Cheetah Mobile is also created for people and it exists on the principle of "everything ingenious is simple".

No. 6. ASTRO File Manager

Another very worthy representative of file managers. Among the advantages, you should pay attention to the well-developed work with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth networks.

Although this will still need to install certain extensions.

There is also a convenient search for files in all possible storages and individual folders in them.

A huge advantage is the support for files with the tar.gz extension, which are intended for Linux operating systems.

Of course, working with classic archives is also up to the mark.

At the same time, for all this extensive functionality, root rights are not required, the program itself can access the functions it needs.

On the other hand, it can be somewhat scary, because ASTRO File Manager, in theory, has the ability to get to secret and private functions.

But there have been no complaints from users yet.

By the way, if we talk about ASTRO File Manager reviews, then users most often highlight the following advantages of this file manager:

  1. Simplicity and clarity of all functions. People write that this file manager does not need to be dealt with for hours, as it happens with some of the above conductors.
  2. No freezes or glitches. Moreover, this is true even for inexpensive Chinese analogues of European mobile products.
  3. The program allows you to create installation files from already installed programs, that is, .apk, which can then be easily transferred and installed on another device.
  4. Convenient interface.

As for the latter, it is worth stopping at this and talking in more detail.

Interface

The very appearance of ASTRO File Manager looks as shown in Figure 7.

As you can see, the program has a menu that displays all files and folders, as well as installed programs.

Each of these items can be run, checked, deleted, copied and other standard functions performed with it.

There is a convenient opportunity to organize files by name, size, creation time and extension. The interface is quite friendly and fits well with the middle versions of Android.

To be honest, ASTRO File Manager does not fit well with the appearance of the latest versions of this operating system. But very few users notice this.

Basically, this file manager was created according to the best traditions of the industry for the production of conductors for mobile phones. Although, of course, he also has disadvantages.

Flaws

The main disadvantages of ASTRO File Manager, which users managed to notice and which they wrote about on Google Play and on the forums, are as follows:

  • The presence of advertising materials that often prevent you from viewing various files and folders normally;
  • Inconvenient mode for viewing photos (although this can still be reduced to individual user preferences);
  • In certain phone models, there are quite a few departures (no one can name an exact list of such models, for example, this is the Sony XPERIA M4);
  • Problems with copying files, often the program does not see some storage media;
  • Problems with moving files (quite a few comments on Google Play are dedicated to this issue).

But it is interesting that the developers of ASTRO File Manager sit on the same Google Play and read comments about their program.

They answer most of the posts about problems, advise them to write to them by mail, or simply write how to fix this or that problem.

They were also seen on some other sites. This can be seen very rarely in our time. In general, ASTRO File Manager can only attract with its friendly interface and simplicity.

But based on all the comments you read, there is one simple piece of advice.

Advice: Ifimmediately after launch, it starts to crash, there are problems with copying and so on, it is better to immediately delete it and not try to fix the problems.

Outcomes

So, above we examined 6 file managers that are very popular among users from all over the world.

Of course, all of them have certain problems and shortcomings, but this does not prevent them from occupying very high positions in the ratings of "audience sympathy".

What is the best manager?

The subtotals are as follows:

  1. In favor of ES File Explorer, the absence of advertising and payment for the program's services, as well as reliability in work, proven over the years.
  2. Many people like X-plore File Manager for its well-designed two-window mode. In principle, otherwise it is the most common conductor.
  3. Total Commander is intended for advanced users only, beginners can simply get confused by such a variety of functions. On the other hand, if you understand all this, Total Commander simply cannot be exchanged for anything else.
  4. Solid Explorer contains all the most basic and necessary for working with files. File Manager from
  5. Cheetah Mobile will appeal to those who want everything to be sorted and structured. Otherwise, it is also a normal conductor.
  6. Finally, ASTRO File Manager also boasts a friendly interface, beautiful design and the ability to create installation files (other managers also have it, but here it is much better worked out).

And the bottom line from all this is this: most often users mentioned ES File Explorer in their comments. And the main reason for its unchanged popularity over the years is its reliability.

This program very rarely crashes.

Therefore, the yellow jersey of the leader today goes to ES File Explorer. Although, if you have time to figure out the functionality, try Total Commander.

If everything works out, you definitely won't trade it for something else!

For more information on our today's winners, check out the video below. There is also the opinion of one of the users about which one is better.

Choosing the best file manager

The best file manager for Android: TOP-6 programs

One of the significant advantages of the Android operating system is open access to the file system. Some devices have simple file managers installed right out of the box, other devices don't even have these, so third-party file managers are quite popular among users.

This article contains 3 of the best file managers for Android OS, which have extensive functionality and allow you to fully work with both your own data and system files.

File Commander

File Commander immediately greets the user with a bright and interesting design.

The application is shareware. The free version comes with ads, and in order to remove it, you need to pay an additional fee. In addition to the absence of advertising, the Premium version opens up advanced opportunities for the user:

  • Access to hidden files and folders;
  • The presence of a "Recycle Bin", which allows you to recover erroneously deleted data ";
  • Allocation of frequently used files to Favorites for quick access;
  • Safe mode, which allows you to hide or encrypt selected files and folders;
  • The ability to sort data by type and size to analyze the utilization of drives.

Immediately after launch, a window with categories of files that you can work on will open in front of you.

By tapping on the selected storage, you can immediately access all the files and folders that are located there.

Next to each disk drive there is a pie chart icon, by tapping on which you open the Memory Analyzer. This feature allows you to determine the "heaviest" files that take up the most space on the disk. The analyzer is available only for the Premium version of File Commander, but for free access there is an opportunity to use this function 3 times for evaluation purposes.

If your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network together with your computer, with PC File Transfer you can access your files using a browser. To do this, you need to start the PC File Transfer service and enter the address generated by the application into the address bar of the browser on the PC.

This will give you access to all files on your PC without having to connect your smartphone or tablet to your PC using a USB cable.

Also File Commander allows you to broadcast the screen of your mobile phone to other devices connected with you to the same Wi-Fi network. To start this function, you need to register via E-mail or using Google or Facebook.

Another extremely useful feature of File Commander is the built-in ability to convert files to various formats. In order to start the converter, you need to tap on the double arrow icon, which is located next to each of the files.

File Commander can convert not only images, but also video files, text documents and pdfs. The list of supported formats is quite extensive, and for each of the files it is selected individually.

The side context menu allows you to quickly access categories, recent files, favorites and the trash can, as well as use FTP, log into other devices via the local network, etc.

Free file manager for Android ES Explorer has a Russian interface made in blue and light gray tones, and without long preludes immediately opens users access to all available functions.

At the very top, there is information about the available storage facilities and their volume. There is also a button to launch the Place Analyzer, which checks which data take up the most space on a mobile device.

After the analysis, the user can see a pie chart that graphically displays the percentage of occupied and free space. Next, information about large files that "eat up" the bulk of disk space is placed, then about empty temporary and log files, about duplicate files located simultaneously in several directories.

By clicking on "Details" you can find out more in the selected category, as well as immediately delete all or only certain files.

The Cleanup function allows you to quickly analyze file storage and delete files from the trash, erase outdated APK installers, ad junk, downloaded files from the Download folder, cached image thumbnails. Sometimes such insignificant garbage can accumulate over several gigabytes.

In addition to working with local storage, ES Explorer can also work with cloud services. By clicking on the Cloud button, you can log in to such popular remote storages as Gdrive, Yandex, OneDrive, etc.

Using ES Explorer, you can connect to other devices via LAN, FTP or Android TV over the local network.

The application also allows you to remotely access a mobile device via a PC if both devices are connected to the same local network.

The built-in ransomware allows you to protect your data in transit, as well as when stored in the cloud. For this ES Explorer uses a special 128-bit cipher.

In addition to being able to select files by category, you can also access all the information on the selected storage. To do this, you need to click on the memory card icon located at the top of the screen next to the Home Page. All folders and files stored on your device will open in front of you.

It can rightfully be considered a legendary product that has been known to everyone since 1993 on the Windows platform. In 2002, the program migrated to Microsoft and eventually expanded to Windows Mobile and Android platforms.

Total Commander has a dark interface in Russian by default, but if desired, the user can completely change the appearance of the application for himself in Settings. You can change not only the background color and control elements, but also font styles and sizes, line heights, and the appearance of icons. Alternatively, you can simply change the interface theme from dark to light.

On the home screen, you have access to shared files on your internal storage. You can also separately get quick access to the downloads folder and photos, go to the root directory of the file system, go to your favorite files in Bookmarks or open the full list of applications for quick removal.

At the bottom of the display is a fixed button bar:

  • Select;
  • Copy / move;
  • Archive;
  • Delete;
  • Sort;
  • Add / change button.

Selecting files in Total Commander is very interesting. In addition to the fact that you can select files with a long tap on the icon, you can also select or deselect certain files by name or extension. An option to invert the selection is also available.
