It is not clear why all this could not be written in the news and not force people to conduct search operations.

Technically, bonus rubles are written off first, so there is every chance of using these rubles, including for a Smart tariff subscriber. Also note that bonus rubles cannot be cashed out, used for mobile commerce, or transferred to the balance of another number. The action itself is useful and will please many. Users of Smart tariffs often have nothing to spend their accumulating points on, which are wasted over time. The essence of the changes is that from May 4, the “BIT Smart” option was closed for connection, which was automatically turned on after 15 days when less than 150 MB of traffic was consumed during these two weeks of free use of the mobile Internet. How does automation work?

Not everyone understands how this works, and they often begin to disable what they consider to be “unnecessary” services. The consequences are unpleasant. Six months ago I published a kind of “manual” on starting automation, but since then a lot has changed, and the “manual” had to be rewritten. After which they start charging him 1.98 rubles. for each access or attempt of a smartphone to access the network (9.90 rubles/MB, rounded to 200 KB).

The main idea that I wanted to convey to you: do not interfere with the operation of this starting automation by disabling individual services “out of the blue.” At least for the first 15 days. Glitches are unpredictable, and there were precedents. But the auto-connecting “Beep”, of course, can and should be turned off. It’s a pity that this “Beep” appears only on the second or third day, you have to track this matter. And I repeat once again: all this automation starts not only with a new connection, but also when switching to a tariff without a subscription fee.

At the same time, I would like to remind you about the intelligent operation of the “Super BIT” option with a monthly subscription fee; this no longer applies to starting automation. If there is not enough money on the balance to withdraw the full amount of the subscription fee, then the option switches to daily withdrawal of the subscription and waits for the account to be replenished. Naturally, with daily write-off it turns out to be more expensive: for “Super BIT” - 14 rubles. per day, i.e. 426 rubles/month instead of monthly 350. After replenishing the account, the full subscription for the month is debited, and then everything works according to the usual scheme.

“Wrong” Smart advertising

We are talking about advertising of the Smart tariff on television, radio, outdoor banners, in the press and in cinemas, which stated that subscribers can use gigabytes of the Internet, as well as make unlimited calls throughout Russia. It is reported that one of the users of the archive tariff Smart 052013 complained to the Federal Antimonopoly Service about money lost during a trip to Russia.

Although now the advertising only talks about the Smart tariff, but on the archived Smart tariff 052013 the option “Smart at home everywhere” was not included in the starter package, and the person had to connect it for a fee. Later, the option was made a non-disabled part of the tariff.


Whether it’s last year’s advertising campaign “We have canceled roaming in Russia!”, it was a completely different story, you can read it. Then MTS deliberately went for false advertising and was unlikely to make a mistake; lawyers and marketers probably calculated everything in advance and compared possible fines with potential additional profit. And today’s case is an illustration of the fact that in mobile communication tariffs, with their numerous clauses, notes and frequent changes, it is almost impossible to make catchy and at the same time “indestructible” advertising. Still, if they want, they will find something to complain about.

End of the MTS Tablet Mini tariff

More precisely, formally this is an option on the Connect 4 tariff plan, but unimportantly, many users consider this option a separate tariff, which is logical. You can read the news, it’s about that starting from May 18, all tariffs for tablets will automatically provide additional traffic packages at a price of 75 rubles. per package 500 MB. And at the end of the news there is information about the MTS Tablet Mini, quote:

“... from May 18, the “MTS Tablet Mini” option will be closed for connection. For subscribers who activated the option before May 18, the terms of provision will not change.”
